Try these three potential solutions.

  1. Make sure you are accessing the resource using links from the library website.  This is especially important if you are located off-campus.
    • If you're using the library database list, JumpStart, or journals and newspapers list to get to an item, you are probably using the correct links.
    • If you found the item via Google or another free search engine, you might not be using Dickinson links. Try links from the database list, JumpStart or journals and newspapers list to gain access.
    • Library links to online resources usually have "dickinson.idm.oclc.org" in the URL.  If you don't see that in the web address in your browser, it could be a sign that you're not accessing the item via Dickinson.
      • If you don't see "ickinson.idm.oclc.org/" in the URL, try adding the prefix https://dickinson.idm.oclc.org/login?url= to the URL for the item you are trying to access.  For examlpe, if you are trying to access an article at this URL: https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/tea.21750, enter this into your web browser: https://dickinson.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/tea.21750.
  2. Clear your browser cache (cookies and site data like images and files).
    • The process for doing this varies a bit, depending on the browser.  See the links below for clearing your cache in different browsers.

  3. Try a different browser.
    • For example, if you see the error in Chrome, try Firefox or Edge or Safari.

  4. Update your browser to the latest version if it isn't already up-to-date.
    • In some cases an update to your operating system could be required prior to the browser update.
    • The process for doing this varies a bit, depending on the browser.  See the links below for updating your browser.
